My dog has black tarry stools, vomiting, and a mass. What's wrong?

Sir/Madam, My pet Bruno is having pasty+ watery stools since last 1 month. He also has vomit quite frequently. The colour of his motion is tarry black. He is quite dull. Our vet gives him injections and tablets with which he is alright but as soon as the dose finishes his health becomes as it was. We've had an x-ray done in which our vet says there is some mass behind his rib cage. I request u to kindly suggest something which can be beneficial for my pet. Thank you.

Hello. What you are describing is a concern for a mass, an ulcer, a previously perforated gut. Tarry black stools are suggestive of bleeding into his gut. I would recommend an ultrasound for Bruno to figure out where the mass is, and see if there is a cause for the melena (blood in the feces). You can also try a fecal sample to see if he has a large worm burden.
