My dog is pooping only blood. What's happening and what to do?

My dog had watery dark red blood come from her rectum as if she pooped but there was only blood no traces of anything else not even poop. Why

Oh no, Chaquita! There can be several conditions that cause pure blood in the stool (referred to as hematochezia), and these include hemorrhage gastroenteritis (HGE), a bleeding ulcer, cancer, parvovirus, a clotting disorder (from rat poison ingestion or genetic), among others. Regardless of the cause, this is a very concerning sign because it can rapidly lead to blood loss and dehydration. Chaquita needs to be taken to an ER vet immediately for an exam, lab testing (CBC, chemistry, coagulation panel), and supportive care (IV fluids, etc.).
