My cat collapsed after neutering. Why and should I be worried?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old

I had him neutered two days ago. I came to clinic to pick him up today. Shockingly They told me he collapsed and is on IV and can't take him home yet. They said it's not critical but didn't explain a lot. should I be worried! The vet was busy to talk to me.

I would definitely be concerned if your pet collapsed and wasn't given a reason why. I would ask the doctor once he/she becomes free and available if they suspect an underlying heart condition is the cause or if there was a complication from the surgery itself, and what prognosis they have for your pet Lazgah moving forward. I pray that everything turns out ok with your pet. Best wishes.
