Why does my healthy dog sound like he's choking when he barks?

Why does my dog sound like hes choking mostly when he tries to bark. He is active and healthy. He is a pibtbull and is 2 years of age. He is happy, though and playing like normal. Please help me out. It is quite possible that Diesel is coughing! A cough can sometimes sound a lot like choking. Causes of coughing can be kennel cough, or a heart related problem. If this continues, it would be a great idea to have him examined by a vet. Kennel cough can often be treated with antibiotics.
