I took my dog to the vet today for red scab sores on his back, some have yellow crust and some scabbed. The vet was not sure what it was but said to keep an eye on it. He was checked thoroughly for fleas and flea dirt.So if these were in fact flea bites, but no dirt or live fleas, can there be eggs?I killed a live one on his face almost two weeks ago that he picked up from going to the bathroom, however have not seen any signs since. I swept MULTIPLE times and he's on a preventative. Are we good?

Why take the chance? just treat your dog with a high quality flea preventive treatment and then you can rule out fleas, that is the only way to rule it out completely as fleas and eggs can be missed by the naked eye.
