Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 1 day old | 8 lbs
We have sibling (male and female) Chihauha puppies, 7 months old. The male has undesended testicles. We plan to neuter/spay but ask for advice on when, which one to do first, or whether to neuter at the same time? Are there alternatives to surgery and any advice is welcome.

In these cases, it is generally easier to have them spayed and neutered at the same time because both pups will be recovering from surgery at the same time. Muldar's neuter will be a bit more involved if he is cryptorchid (undescended testicles) because your vet may need to make additional incisions in the ground or abdomen depending on the location of the testicles. Recovery can be more difficult if one pup is energetic and playful and the other needs to be kept quiet. Make sure both puppies have e-collars (cones) after surgery to prevent them from licking at their incisions.
