My dog has bad breath, licking, shaking. Is she in mouth pain?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed

My dog's breath has started to smell really bad and she won't stop licking anything she can continuously. She also keeps shaking on and off. I think she might be in pain in her mouth but I'm not sure what It could be or how to treat it as she won't let me look inside her mouth. Can you please tell me what you think it could be and how to treat it ?

Dental abscesses, broken teeth and ulcers can all cause pain, as can foreign bodies stuck in the mouth. A full dental exam under sedation may be required and blood tests for kidney disease may be recommended also
