My dog lifts her back leg after lying down, but isn't in pain.

Just noticed that Maggie lefts her back leg but is not in pain. When I walk her there is no problem but when she is upstairs and has been lying down she lefts the leg...

She could have some arthritis in her hips, a loose knee cap, or a strain/sprain. You could have your vet examine her to determine the cause. Your vet can take an X-ray, if needed, to help diagnose and the determine the best way to treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory to treat.

    Hello. This sounds more like back or neck pain. If her leg was the issue, she would limp. Have your veterinarian examine her and check range of motion in her neck and palpate along her spine for pain. If found, she can be treated with rest and anti inflammatory medication.
