Is my dog's lethargy and unsteadiness normal after spay and Rimadyl?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 months and 2 days old | 50 lbs

Hello, my dog was spayed via laser on Friday. She was prescribed rimadyl to take the following day. I gave her 1/2 a 100mg as prescribed. She moved slowly and rested a lot. Today, I gave her another half a pill. She has been lethargic all day a balance is a little unsteady. She has been eating and drinking and her urine and stool look ok. I gave her the pill at 9am cst. Should I be concerned or wait until tomorrow morning and see how she is?

I am concerned that Zoey is still lethargic and unsteady. Because she is eating and drinking, and her urine and stool look ok, I would monitor her tonight. Should she still be lethargic and unsteady tomorrow, I would have her seen by the vet.
