My dog ate a spoonful of blackcurrant jam. Should I be worried?

Hi my dog just ate some blackcurrant jam probably about a spoonful full. An hour ago. What should I do next?

Unfortunately the toxicity from currants (as well as raisins) is not necessarily dose-dependent, and symptoms can occur with even small ingestions. Decontamination (e.g., inducing vomiting, decontaminating with activated charcoal, etc.), aggressive supportive care, aggressive IV fluid therapy, and kidney function (e.g., BUN/creatinine) monitoring is usually recommended. To be on the safe side I would recommend to have coco checked by your local vet.
