Pet's info: Dog | Cairn Terrier | Male | neutered | 4 years and 5 months old
My dog has yellow mucky discharge from his eye. Think it's from another dog hitting his eye yesterday but didn't think anything of it as he was running around. Have bathed eye with Luke warm tea and are regulaly wiping it. He's not out of character and is still eating. Just want advice on how to proceed? Should we go to the vet tomorrow or keep wiping with Luke warm water and see Monday/Tuesday? Thanks

Ouch! Poor Archie. If Archie is squinting, rubbing, or having redness in the affected eye, he should be seen by a vet today. These signs can indicate a corneal ulcer or abrasion as a result of the trauma. However, if he does not seem bothered by the eye and the discharge is improving, you can continue monitoring it for changes through the weekend. In the meantime, out an Elizabethan collar or cone on Archie to prevent any further damage. Avoid putting anything in the eye, but you can use warm water to clean the discharge from under his eye.
