My dog's penis is inflamed and he's licking it. Can I use antiseptic?

My dog is 7 months old and has sometimes had whitish green discharge from his penis. Two days ago I noticed that the tip was inflamed and irritated and he won't stop licking it. A website told me to put antiseptic on it, is that correct? Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Male | unneutered | 7 months and 8 days old | 27 lbs

Green discharge is an normal occurrence in unneutered dogs, but inflammation on the tip of the penis is not. it could be an infection, putting a cream locally is not likely to help, you will need to take him to the vet as he may need an antibiotic course or anti inflammatories.
