Puppy bitten by stray: What immediate rabies symptoms should I watch for?

My puppy has not got his AR shot and was bitten by a stray when we walked into their territory. He has a small wound, more like a scratch. The stray was healthy, But in case what are some rabies symptoms that appear immediately? His hind legs seemed wobbly though now its gone. Could it be because of the dog bite or are rabies symptoms appearing early? Other than that he's eating drinking all normal. Thanks Milna

Hi Milna! I'm sorry to hear that your puppy was bitten. There are no symptoms of rabies that appear immediately. Since rabies is a fatal disease that can be transmitted through bodily fluids (saliva, blood) to humans, please take your puppy to a vet immediately. In addition to the concern of rabies, your puppy should have his wound evaluated, cleaned, and be started on a course of antibiotics.
