Can fleas survive in a carpet by themselves and produce without biting a dog? What if the dog is treated with monthly topical drops?

Fleas can survive in the environment such as a carpet without biting a dog, which is why it's very important to disinfect the environment as well. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. If the dog is on a monthly topical treatment, the fleas will die when they bite your dog, but there will still be some in the environment, so it should be treated as well.
