Im giving my dog a bar that i make every morning before we go hiking it has rabbit meat, chicken feet, chia seeds, hemp seeds, sweet potato, blue berries, and kelp. Im just wondering how long tell the sweet potato goes into the system as well as how long it will take the chondroitin from the chicken feet to get in the system and how long it will last in the system. Also will this bar cause any indigestion?

Digestion times will depend on size and breed. Typically, the stomach will empty 2-4 hours after eating and the processing of a meal takes place over the next 4-10 hours. This, too, depends on the type of food eaten. If your dog is not sensitive to any of the ingredients and it is properly prepared, he/she should not experience any GI upset. The minimal amount of chondroitin in chicken feet is likely to produce negligible effects. Consider a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement such as Dasuquin or Cosequin.
