Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 lbs
My 15 year old cat has a large cyst on his jaw line on the left side near his lip. The cyst is round and hard but seems to be movable and does not seem to be attached to the bone. There is no indication that the inside of his mouth is affected. My Vet pierced the cyst and only darker red blood came out. My Vet said this was not a good sign. I decided to have the cyst removed surgically tomorrow. My question is why would blood in the cyst be a bad sign? I forgot to ask my Vet before I left

If there is blood in this lump, that could actually be a sign of a malignant tumor. Because Lucky is 15 years old, unfortunately that is a possibility. It's a good idea to have this lump removed, and I'd recommend having it sent for a biopsy if your vet hasn't mentioned that to you before. I hope the surgery goes well tomorrow, and I hope this helps you!
