My dog fell, is limping & yelping. Is it a sprain or broken bone?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My dog fell of the couch and I suspect she fractured the tip of her ulna the triangle price of bone right beside her elbow in her front left leg, and she limps but can stand on that leg; I can feel the inflammation around that area and she yelps when I touch it. So doctor is it a fracture or just a sprain?

To diagnose a sprain or fracture, your dog will need to be physically examined by your veterinarian. X-rays can diagnose a fracture. Since she is exhibiting signs of pain, she likely require some pain medication and anti inflammatories to provide relief.
