Why is my dog acting weird, struggling to walk, drooling, and peeing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 46 lbs

I heard my dog cry so ran checked on him and he normally hangs out in his cage, he was laying weird and looked lost. He started to pee a little so I brought him outside. as he was walking out it seemed as if he was struggling to walk. My other dog went over to him and he proceeded to get defensive and tried to growl , I tried to calm him down and tried to growl at me too. This entire time he looked scared and was dribbling spit. He ran off to pee and then came back his regular self. Please help

What you are describing sounds as though Finn may have had a seizure. I'm glad to hear that he returned to normal fairly quickly. Closely monitor him for other changes in his behavior and if this occurs again, take him to your local veterinarian for further evaluation. If he has more than one seizure episode in a 24 hour period or has seizure activity lasting longer than 5-10 minutes, take him to an emergency veterinarian.
