My 8 month old puppy has been vomitting atleast 3-5x a week for the past month. He also has VERY itchy paws which I know means is an allergy. Im trying to switch his food right now but hes still vomitting. So im not sure if its helping. (he only vomits once a day usually in the morning.)

If Sammy has been vomiting that frequently, we need to consider other causes in addition to allergies including parasites, gastrointestinal foreign body or intussusception, liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. Since he is a puppy, a fecal exam, deworming and abdominal x-rays are strongly advised. Please follow up with your veterinarian to discuss these tests. As far as diets are concerned, a novel protein (rabbit, duck, venison, kangaroo) or hydrolyzed diet is recommended.

Beneful doesn't make dogs itch. Any dog food that they are allergic to can make a dog itch. Common allergens in dogs are chicken and beef. Grains are less likely to make an allergic dog itch. But food allergies are less common in young dogs as they are in older dogs. I would recommend that you have Beau examined by a vet. Other causes for vomiting include dietary intolerance or indiscretion, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, among others. The vet will do an exam and discuss the circumstances surrounding his vomiting. The vet may recommend blood work or x-rays depending on what they think may be going on.
