Do not give any medications to your pet without the advice of your veterinarian. Although Orajel can be used in dogs, it is only a temporary solution to what could be a big problem. If your dog is older and has periodontal disease, he should be seen by your vet for a dental check up and to be treated as indicated. If he is a puppy and teething, there are canvas or water filled, freezable chew toys which will soothe his gums and help him feel better. Since he is acting abnormally, he should be seen by your vet for an exam and treatment if necessary.
