My dog just swallowed my underwear what should I do?

If it has been less than 2 hours since your pet ate it, you can induce vomiting by giving an oral dose of hydrogen peroxide, about 1 cc per pound. One tablespoon is about 5 cc. A turkey baster will work if you don't have a syringe. Longer than two hours and it will have already moved into the intestines. If he does not produce the underwear, he needs to go to the vet right away. This could cause a blockage in his intestines, or it could cause the intestines to bunch up along the fabric and slow or even stop the blood supply to them. If left untreated, this condition can be deadly.

Also my dog ate the crotch of my thong. Will that pass or will it get stuck? My other dog that passed was fine. Any signs I should watch for?
Underwear can get stuck in your dog's GI tract. If it does, that requires surgery to fix. If Maxine ate the underwear less than 2 hours ago, take her to your vet to induce vomiting to try to get it out. If it's been longer than 2 hours, you will need to monitor her for signs such as vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, and lethargy. Those signs can indicate the underwear is stuck in her GI tract, and she will need to see a vet immediately.

My moms dog got ahold of some of my used tampons maybe pads in the garbage I don't know how many or which one he got but I need advise what tho do. He is a labradoodle maybe 25 to 30lbs
If he just ate them you can attempt to make him vomit. He can have 1-1/2 to 2 tablespoons of hydrogen peroxide by mouth. It may take up to 15 minutes for him to vomit. If he does not vomit, DO NOT give more peroxide. Get him to the vet ASAP. Even if he does vomit that does not mean everything will come up so if in the day or so he starts acting sick (not eating, vomiting, lethargic) then you need to get him to your vet ASAP as he could have something stuck in his intestines.

There are two possibilities to deal with that: 1) you take him to a Pet ER right away where they will give him some apomorphine to make him regurgitate his stomach contents. 2) you wait until it leaves the body via the stool. This can take a few days, but also bears the risk of causing an intestinal obstruction. It may be possible that he will regurgitate it without intervention, however the earlier you have vomiting induced , the less likely the tampon will leave the stomach into the intestine.

My 9 month old cavapoo has swallowed a thong! He seems perfectly happy and acting normal. He's been pooing and eating normally I'm just starting to worry as this happened on wednesday and he still hasn't passed it!!
Oh no, that was naughty of Benji to eat the thong! It's good that he's acting normally, as well as pooping and eating. It can take time for the underwear to pass, but if it still hasn't passed by Monday, I would take him into the vet for an x-ray to see if the thong can be visualized in the intestine. If he stops eating, stops pooping, has diarrhea, starts vomiting, or becomes very lethargic, then rush him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

My pregnant pug ate my husband's underwear, the butt of them. She's vomited since last night and a little this morning. She's eating and drinking, passing Dry stools with fabric in the stool... I've given her a 5 mg dulcolax and giving her Pedialyte
Hello. If she is eating, drinking & still passing stools, then she may not need surgery. You definitely want to increase her intake of fluids. Supply low sodium broths or stocks for her to drink in addition to her fresh water. Switch to a wet diet & add a moderate amount of additional liquid to this, but not too much. You do not want to dilute the nutritional density of her food too much. Take 2 slices of bread & slather each piece with a layer of Vaseline & try to get her to eat this a piece at a time. If you can get one slice in her now, you can do the second piece later on or this evening. Hopefully this will lubricate her gut & push the rest of the material out of her. But if she stops eating & vomits everything, becomes bloated or shows abdominal pain, you will need to make a decision about her care. Hopefully, she will continue to pass things over the next 24 hours. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. If it has been under 2 hours since he ate the small stuffed animal, I would recommend inducing vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. You can give 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds, so if Barney weighs about 70 pounds, this would be 7 teaspoons. You can use a turkey baster to get it in his mouth. If he doesn’t vomit within 15 minutes, you can give him another 4 teaspoons and see if this works. Do not give any more than this total amount. If he still does not vomit, I recommend bringing him to a veterinarian who can use injectable medication to induce vomiting. The biggest concern with ingestion of a toy is an intestinal obstruction or blockage, which is a surgical emergency. If you cannot get him to a veterinarian now, I recommend watching for signs of obstruction including vomiting, lethargy, decreased appetite, drooling, etc. If you see these signs, he should be seen, and your vet may recommend x rays to look for evidence of an intestinal block

If it's too late to get him to vomit, you can reasonably expect diarrhea at least. I would withhold food for 12-24 hours to give his gut a chance to rest after this very rich meal. When you start feeding him, only give him a few pieces of kibble at a time, every 30 minutes or so, until he has had his usual meal. If at any time he develops lethargy, fever, repeated vomiting, abdominal pain, or any other adverse symptoms, he should be seen by your vet right away. The plastic could cause a blockage that can seriously damage his intestines.

If he broke the bone while eating it, do NOT induce vomiting. The broken bone can cause damage as it moves. Call your vet or local emergency clinic and ask their advice. They may want you to bring him in or they may give you instructions on something to try at home.
