Bravecto and Advantix contain different drugs that work in different ways - it is safe to give the two together. You should also be sure that Zeke is on a heartworm preventative - this is the main disease in dogs that is spread through mosquitoes.

Hello. Cephalexin is a very common antibiotic used in pets & usually does not cause a problem, but your dog may indeed have a sensitivity to it. I am glad you held off giving the medication this evening, but I would try it again tomorrow morning about 30 minutes after she eats. If she holds it down, great but if she vomits then your veterinarian will need to prescribe another antibiotic on Monday if necessary. Continue the steroid as this is the more important medication. These medications can certainly be given on the same day. No concerns for drug interactions here whatsoever. Please also continue to monitor for any signs of GI upset however from the medications themselves, which includes vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite and notify your vet immediately if seen. Only a small percentage of pets will have an adverse reaction to these medications. Both medications should be gien after a small meal. Great question! As far as actual drug interactions, there is no concern with administering potassium bromide with any oral or topical heartworm or flea/tick preventatives. Some oral flea and tick preventatives (such as Nexgard and Comfortis/Trifexis) state to administer with caution in dogs with a history of seizures. That said, these results come from a controlled studies where several of the dogs had a history of seizures prior to the administration of these medications. On a personal side note, I give my own 10 year old dog Nexgard and Heartgard as well as potassium bromide for seizure control without hesitation. I do not feel that the studies are controlled well enough to indicate a causal relationship between Nexgard and seizure activity. That said, if you have major concerns, you can always use a topical flea/tick preventative, such as Advantix.

Metacam is an anti-inflammatory medication, tramadol and gabapentin are pain medications that work in different ways and are often used together, Clavaseptin and metronidazole are antibiotics that both cover different types of bacteria, and Cerenia is an anti-nausea medication that also has some anti-inflammatory effects.
