Do puppy potty training sprays really work for housetraining?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Do spray attractants work? If yes, then which one would you recommend for me to use because of the reviews I'm reading say not all work for them.

There is no scientific data that says these sprays work. I assume that you are talking about spray attractants for housetraining a puppy. The best advice is to look at reviews on Amazon and choose one with the best reviews. Because veterinarians don't really study these kinds of things and most of the recommendations come from dog trainers based on personal experience with using them. Also if you ask top dog trainers they will not focus so much on the spray attractants, but instead will focus on consistent training methods to get your pet to use the potty on the pee pads only. Which involves close monitoring of your puppy, diligence to picking up your puppy and taking her to the puppy pad when she goes somewhere else, and crating your puppy when you cannot monitor her at all times.
