Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 4 years and 11 months old
My dog had a clear dripping from his nose and then threw up what looked like stomach bile. This happened twice in a few days. What should I do?

Withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.

Poor Thunder! It could be that he has a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or may have pancreatitis causing him to vomit. What is concerning me is that he is drinking minimally and not eating on top of the vomiting. I'm willing to give a home remedy for you to try with him to see if that helps as long as he is keeping down water. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

if the dog is still active I would recommend to monitor him (watch his activity level, appetite, water intake, vomiting and diarrhea) and keep him without food for about 12 hours, then introduce bland diet such as boiled chicken breast and rice. BUT if the vomiting continues, or your dog seems to be more depressed or listless, or the dog still not eating then call your veterinarian or a local emergency hospital.

Hi, and thanks for your question. These signs could be compatible with an inflammation infection of the gastrointestinal system and surrounding organs (like pancreas and liver). As a first approach, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days.I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. If that is the case, antibiotics and possibly further investigations (like abdominal imaging as ultrasound or radiographs) may be needed.
