No, Doria cannot be infected with [parvovirus](https://www.petcoach.co/article/spaying-ovariohysterectomy-the-benefits-in-dogs/) a second time after having survived [parvovirus infection](https://www.petcoach.co/article/canine-parvovirus-7-things-to-know) once. A dog or puppy that has recovered from parvo infection cannnot get infected a second time. Studies have shown immunity lasts at least 3 years, but the pup may be considered immune for the rest of its life due to natural antibodies towards the virus.

When a dog survives parvovirus they make a huge amount of antibodies, so the likelihood of them developing the disease again is highly unlikely, unless they have an abnormal immune system. However, many dogs with parvovirus also have concurrent intestinal parasite infestations and can develop a secondary problem called intussusception which can be a life threatening intestinal issue. If your puppy is displaying any vomiting or diarrhea or low appetite then I would highly encourage you to have Spark evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
