Is it okay for my cat to eat home chicken? She likes it a lot and she now doesn't eat her own cat food that much. Is it normal? Any tip?

It would be ok to eat a small amount of chicken, as long as it is baked and not fried. She also needs to eat cat food because an all chicken diet is not a nutritional balanced diet for a cat. If she won't eat both and is only looking for chicken than you may need to feed only cat food so she will start eating it again. You could try different varieties and see which one she eats best.

It's fine as long as you do not give her any cooked bones. the problem though is that if you start giving her chicken every day she will probably not eat her cat food because of that. i recommend giving chicken just as a treat not more than twice a week, the rest of the time keep her on cat food. if she doesn't like her food, try a different one until you find one that she likes.

Chicken, beef, fish and any of the other major meats would be adequate protein sources for your kitten. You should continue trying to encourage your kitten to eat kitten food because it is more complete and balanced than just chicken alone. Try differ flavors of food with different textures (dry, pate, chunks with gravy) until you find one you cat will eat. I would also recommend that you stop offering her chicken because she will just keep refusing food until you give her the chicken. Or you could try adding chicken to the food to encourage her to eat it. You may also want to check out the website balanceit.com. There you will find home cooking recipes for complete and balanced diets for pets. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Best of luck.
