Puppies often cry when they are eating, it's not unusual and they usually grow out of it within a few weeks.

    He may have a painful condition in his mouth, for example loose or infected tooth, gingivitis, wound in the mouth or in the throat or even problems with masticatory muscles. If he continues to cry while eating you should get him checked by your local vets.

    Try feeding him good quality canned puppy food and see whether he cries with that as well. There is a possibility that chewing loarger kibble hurts his gums. If he cries with the soft canned food also, then you may want to have a vet examine his mouth and throat. It could also just be a puppy habit,.
