Puppy got too much ear cleaner in ear. Is it harmful? What to do?

The top came off the ear cleaner as I was putting it in my puppies ear. Will to much ear cleaner harm his ears, and is there something I should do

Typically you don't have to worry about putting too much ear cleaner in the ear. Just gently wipe with a paper towel and the rest will drain out on its own. As long as you didn't get any cleanser into the eyes your puppy should be fine.

    You can use a commercial solution, such as Epi-Otic. Do not use plain water. This could foster infection. Also, do not use peroxide or alcohol as these may sting and cause pain. If there is discharge or bleeding, have Buddy examined by your vet to diagnose and treat infection first.
