Can I give my cat human lorazepam for stress? What's the dose?

Can I give my cat the same lorazepam that I take? If so what would the doze be for a 7 pound 1 year old cat who is totally stressed right now.

You can give lorazepam as one off dose. It is not a perfect drug to treat stress in cats long term. The dose is 0.02mg to 0.1mg per kg of body weight. Starting dose should be low, so you should give your cat about 0.15mg. If you have 1mg tablets it would be about 1/7 of the tablet. Please, remember that there are safer and easier to dose medications for cats to relief stress so I would recommend you to talk to your local vets and get one of the medication that is licensed to be used in cats.
