Vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, lethargy or abdominal pain. The screws should pass eventually but the possibility of internal damage or toxicity from the metal is possible. Feed a bulky diet for the next few days and monitor for their passing. Consider a visit to your vet for an exam and abdominal xrays to locate them.

Many of these objects wil pass on their own but occasionally they can get stuck in the digestive tract. We normally recommend feeding a bulky meal such as a slice of wheat bread torn into chunks in the hopes of creating a cushion effect around the pointy portion of the object. Monitor closely for vomiting, Decreased appetite, abdominal pain and lethargy. If these occur seek veterinary care immediately. The screw may take several days to pass so continue checking stools until you see it!
