My cat was diagnosed with congestive heart failure 3 months ago. Treatment is too stressful. Last night, she started panting. Is this the end stage?

3 months is the average time since the beginning of treatment to the end stage, so unfortunately it might be the end stage. if she is having severe difficulty breathing i strongly advice to consider euthanasia, you do not want her to go away like that - she will basically suffocate and it's a terrible way to go, it's much kinder to opt for euthanasia while she is still in a relatively mild state of distress.

Discuss your concerns with your veterinarian. Euthanasia is a decision based on clinical findings, prognosis and quality of life. If she is suffering and cannot be treated, the decision may be a bit easier.
