Why was my dog limp and unresponsive when I picked her up from sleep?

My dog was sleeping. I picked her up she did not wake up and was limp. Is this normal? Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Female | spayed | 11 years and 8 months old

She could have been so deeply asleep she might not have noticed you picking her up. She is an older dog and possibly starting to be hard of hearing as well. If she woke up shortly after and is behaving normally, I would not worry too much. If she had a problem waking up, then you should have her seen by a veterinarian.
