Why is my dog scratching his ear, crying, and licking his foot?

My dog is digging at his and crying and then licking and smelling his foot after digging at his ear what is going on and what can I do to help him

This usually indicates that he has some type of ear infection. I would recommend taking him into the vet and having a swab done to determine what is causing the infection and get treatment at the same time. It is usually some type of antibiotic pills or ointments which would be prescribed.

    He is probably suffering from an ear infection, unfortunately the ear cleaner will not help cure it, you need to take him to the vet as he will need a prescription antibiotic/antifungal ear drops to treat this infection.

A visit at your local vets is recommended as Carl may need a course of ear drops and / or anti-allergic medication.

This can be a sign of an ear infection, which can be caused by ear mites, yeast, or bacteria. You need to take Lilly into the vet to get the cause of it diagnosed so she can get the correct treatment. I'd take her into the vet today. Best of luck.

Hello. Licking of the feet or scratching at the ears can be a sign of allergies either to the environment or to food. It can also be a sign of parasites. Infection can also be a cause as well. If the licking is continuing then I would bring Orion to a vet when you can. They will check for infection and see if medications are needed. Also, you can discuss allergies with them and discuss different food options to try. Often switching the meat protein (switch from a beef based diet to a chicken based diet for example) is the most rewarding. Good luck with Orion.

Poor pup! Scratching at the ears and crying can be caused by ear mites, a bacterial or fungal ear infection, or even skin mites (mange). I would recommend taking Handsome to the vet for an exam when you are able to. He/she can use an otoscope to look inside the ear, and may take a swab of any discharge in the ear canal to help with the diagnosis. Once the problem is determined, the vet will prescribe appropriate medication to treat it.

Ear flapping/scratching and paw licking till stained. No bumps or rashes or scabs. No intense/constant scratching. Took dog to vet and given MalAcetic Otic for ears for infection and revolution in case of scabies. Revolution given on Friday and today
This sounds very potential for allergies. It could be food or environmental allergies. If the licking and itching doesn’t start to improve then I would talk to your vet about starting a food trial and getting him on some allergy medicines like apoquel. You could also try Benadryl twice a day to see if This helps. I have included a link below for more information on Benadryl. Scabies is USUALLY extremely itchy. My pet is itching heavily and has hurt it's ear while scratching and it has no signs of wound inside ear but screams of pain in ear. Please help me.
Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further scratching. Have Bijju examined by your veterinarian. A swab of the ear can be examined under a microscope to diagnose yeast or bacterial infection. Your vet can clean the ears afterwards and dispense the appropriate medication.

Somethings wrong with his ear! He keeps whining and digging at it.
It's probably an ear infection, often it cannot be seen from the outside. Ear infections are very common in dogs, it is usually caused by either yeast or bacterial disease. the treatment is usually simple and straightforward, you will have to take Bruiser to the vet and get the ears checked, then a prescription ear drops will be prescribed according to the infectious agent.

Your dog could have a middle or inner ear infection. The symptoms for middle and inner ear infections are often similar to outer ear infections, and include pain in the ear, head shaking, infected or bloody discharge, and scratching or pawing at the head or ear. Your vet can diagnose an ear infection, and because untreated ear infections can lead to hearing loss, I'd recommend taking Speckles into your vet to have them examine the ear. If it is an ear infection, Speckles will need an antibiotic to treat the infection.

It could be that Jax is suffering from an ear infection. This would be painful to him, and it would cause him to touch his ear. In dogs, ear infections can be caused by yeast, bacteria, or ear mites, and the cause of the infection needs to be diagnosed so it can be treated correctly.
