My French Bulldog has one testicle. When should both be visible?

Hi. I would like to know the normal age for a French bulldog to have both testicle visible as mine only has 1.

The testicles usually descend by 2 months of age. Some breeds may take longer, but typically by 6 months of age both testicles should have descended. An undescended testicle poses an increased risk of testicular cancer. Surgery is typically required. Cryptorchidism is considered a genetic fault so your dog should not be used as a stud dog. The procedure can be done when your dog is neutered. Discuss the details of the surgery with your vet.

    Most male dogs' testicles will be fully descended by 5-6 months of age. Your dog may unfortunately be cryptorchid, meaning that one testicle is still retained within the body. Due to this, it is important to have him neutered as these retained testicle can often become cancerous.
